STATIONS (2023)

STATIONS is a generative audiovisual work created in Unity in collaboration with Angus Andrew of Liars. Designed to run in real time, the application listens and responds to a dense soundscape built from flute drones, resonant metallic percussion, and field recordings.

The visual world is fragmented and unstable. Images split into shards, planes fracture, and forms drift apart before briefly reassembling. Their movement is shaped by the music, with cuts, shifts, and collisions reacting to changes in rhythm, intensity, and tone.

The work moves through a forest landscape populated by glowing blue orbs and a rippling chrome sphere that reflects and distorts its surroundings. At times the camera glides slowly through the environment. At others, the scene breaks into abrupt, beat-driven edits. Natural space, synthetic objects, and the architecture of transit begin to overlap.

STATIONS is a reflection on time, movement, and displacement. The field recordings suggest passage through a real location, while the visual environment feels suspended outside ordinary time. Sound becomes a navigational force, continuously reshaping the landscape and determining how the work unfolds.
